BLIOB will officially come out of its hibernation sometime around the start of spring training, but this piece of breaking news will surely send shock waves throughout Major League Baseball and in reality, the entire world.
The New York Mets have signed jack-of-all trades pitcher, R.A. Dickey. The 35-year-old, bearded freak of a knuckleballer has a lifetime record of 22-28 lifetime record, 5.43 ERA and 1.57 WHIP.
While this move may not create the same buzz as signing a Matt Holliday, don't underestimate the power of ARRRRRR AYYYYY Dickey. He has very legitimate chance of starting the season as the Mets No. 2 starter.
And if you have no idea why I keep spelling out "R.A.," then, with an Ole American accent, belt out the two letters back-to-back (preferably in an empty room so you hear the full echo). Then you will understand the power of...ARRRRRRRRR AYYYYYYY Dickey. See, it sounds and feels nice to yell, right?
And ya know what, if Johan's bum elbow fails him, we could see Mistuh Dickey on the mound come Opening Day. I will fly home from Rome for that start!
The smell of spring is getting closer, folks.
Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to resume our hibernation.
