Well, a series at least. The Mets defeated the Washington Nationals 6-2 Sunday afternoon at Citi Field to win only their second series in 15 tries. (They haven't won a road series since July 24-26 in Houston. Yikes.)
Brief highlights...
-John Maine threw five innings of shutout baseball, albeit verse the Nationals. Johnny's shoulder always seems to gain strength as the games grow more meaningless. I would prefer the Mets not include him in their plans for 2010.
-Daniel Murphy added two more RBIs today, helping him eclipse the 60 RBI mark for the season. Only took him 473 at-bats.
-The dangerous 1-2 of Pagan-Castillo added 5 more hits. Where would they be without these guys?!
I'm going to try to fart out two non-recap pieces this week. One at the minimum.
Two weeks left. Remember Opening Day in Cincy? How was that this season?
