Tim Redding pitched quite well, tossing 7+ innings, allowing 2 runs (1 ER), on 4 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 4 and got the win, which is just his 3rd of the season.
Daniel Murphy was 1-3 with 2 RBI. He opened up the scoring with an RBI single in the 2nd. The score would remain 1-0 until Adam Dunn tied it in the 7th when he knocked in Cristian Guzman. The Mets wasted no time getting the lead back.
David Wright led off the bottom of the 7th with an opposite field double, after rookie RF Ian Desmond charged in on Wright's hit, which proceeded to sail over his head. Desmond was playing the outfield for the first time as a pro. He's a natural middle infielder. Jeff Francoeur then made it back-to-back doubles, making the score 2-1. After Tatis moved Frenchy over to 3rd. Murph then knocked Frenchy in after his ground ball was booted by Adam Dunn.

The Nats would get one back in the 8th after a Sean Green throwing error, but it was not enough. K-Rod pitched a perfect 9th with 2 strikeouts to pick up his 32nd save.
Now 12.5 games back, with only 14 to play, it's becoming very unlikely that the Nationals will be able to catch the Mets. If they lose tomorrow, the dream is all but over. John Maine and Garrett Mock will face-off in the rubber game. I don't expect any of you Jets fans to be watching though.
